This goal of this project was to produce a redesigned concept of the ten dollar bill for the United States Bureau of Engraving and Printing, the Departments of Treasury and the Federal Reserve. A countries currency is one of its most important forms of branding, especially for the United States. The impact of our currency is global and dollar bill is one of the most recognizable images in the world. The new ten dollar bill highlights the Native American population as well as the majesty of the great plains. A digital pixel pattern symbolizes our countries transition into and spearheading of, the digital revolution. Faded green has been replaced by vibrant colors, celebrating different aspects of American Culture. The new design contains a number of new security measures including a semi opaque verification strip, advanced ink, elaborate 3D holographic patches and intricate security patterns. New synthetic cotton means the bills will stay vibrant and usable longer than today’s bill series’. This new design brings a sense of order to our currency while maintaining diverse visual branding that has been consistent in American currency for hundreds of years.
